Overview

The Centre for Clinical Care and Clinical Research (CCCRN) is inviting proposals from qualified consultants or organizations to develop an innovative online application aimed at building the capacity of nurses in both rural and urban areas across Nigeria. This initiative seeks to enhance nurse leadership skills, improve healthcare delivery, and promote professional development among the nursing workforce.

Objective

The objective of this initiative is to develop an online application that will support the capacity-building needs of nurses in various roles within the healthcare sector. The application should be designed to enhance the leadership skills of nurses in areas such as management, risk communication, data use and research, quality improvement, and use of digital tools.

Scope of Work

The selected consultant or organization will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing an online application that includes:

  • Interactive training modules and courses on leadership and management for nurses.
  • Access to resources and tools for continuous professional development.

  • Real-time data tracking and reporting features to monitor progress and outcomes.
  • User-friendly interfaces accessible on both desktop and mobile devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and review needs assessment to identify specific requirements for the online application.
  • Develop a comprehensive project plan and timeline.
  • Design and develop the application with interactive and engaging content.

Job Summary

The Nurse will improve the health of the targeted population by providing quality curative and preventive health care. Responsibilities include triaging patients, ensuring smooth patient flow, providing clinical care, assisting with referrals, and offering health education and hygiene promotion. The role may require assisting Health staff in other capacities as needed. Essential functions must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Clinical Nursing Services: Deliver nursing care according to internationally accepted standards.
  • Assist Healthcare Team: Support clinicians, midwives, laboratory, vaccination, and pharmacy staff in their duties.
  • Patient Management: Handle triage, take vital signs, and organize patient consultations.
  • Vaccination: Conduct vaccinations for children and pregnant women.
  • Wound Care: Perform dressing and suturing of deep wounds.
  • Inpatient Care: Provide nursing care per physician’s guidelines in inpatient settings.
  • Compliance: Follow MoH/WHO guidelines for rational drug use.
  • Treatment and Protocols: Provide treatment according to MOH/WHO guidelines in collaboration with the supervisor.
  • Data Management: Accurately register and record patient information for reporting and case management.

  • Physical Examination Support: Assist in examining sexual and reproductive health patients, especially for male healthcare providers.
  • Malnutrition Screening: Screen children under 5 for malnutrition and provide related services if trained and assigned.
  • Capacity Building: Provide training to build capacity and enhance skills of other staff, such as CHWs and nurse assistants.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work with other departments to ensure smooth service integration.
  • Administrative Duties: Adhere to directives regarding work schedules, record-keeping, patient communications, confidentiality, and restocking supplies.

  • Clinical Space Management: Assist in the setup, maintenance, and mobilization of clinical spaces.

Policy Adherence

  • PSEA Standards: Promote prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse standards within IMC and among beneficiaries.
  • Code of Conduct: Adhere to the Code of Conduct, humanitarian principles, and respect international humanitarian law.

Job Requirements

  1. Qualifications: Registered nurse from a government-recognized institute with a valid license to practice.
  2. Experience: Previous experience in a similar capacity is advantageous; NGO experience is preferable.

Qualifications

Education

Experience

Skills
