Job Description: Targeting Assistant

Job Type: Full Time

The Opportunity

The Targeting Assistant will oversee and conduct beneficiary targeting and profiling exercises. These exercises are crucial for selecting vulnerable individuals to be enrolled as beneficiaries of various WFP interventions, such as the Blanket Supplementary Feeding Program (BSFP), General Food Assistance (GFA), and Livelihood support. Key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with communities to conduct focus group discussions.
  • Constituting and training community-based targeting committees.
  • Guiding committees on developing and using vulnerability criteria for beneficiary selection.
  • Overseeing the door-to-door census exercise conducted by enumerators.

About You

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:

  • Education: BSc, HND, or equivalent in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Nutrition, Agriculture, or other relevant disciplines.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of practical work experience in a similar role, particularly in WFP interventions and community mobilization.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English, Hausa, and key languages from Rabaja, Tangaza, Illela, and Sokoto South.
  • Skills: Ability to facilitate the development and scheduling of volunteer outreach activities.
