We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled HR/Admin Officer to join our team.

Job Details

HR/Admin Officer Responsibilities at Medecins du Monde (MdM) in Borno State

As an HR/Admin Officer at MdM in Borno State, you will oversee the following key areas:

Finance and Administration

  • Assist in managing financial and administrative processes within the organization

Human Resources

  • Support the Deputy HR Coordinator in ensuring proper application of HR policies and associated processes
  • Follow up on employee absences (paid leaves, sick leaves) and report to the HR Coordinator
  • Maintain and update staff files, including the staff database
  • Participate in interviews when requested by the HR Coordinator
  • Assist in monthly payroll preparation
  • Manage staff, Ministry of Health (MoH) staff, and daily worker contracts
  • Liaise with Logistics to ensure staff contact details are up-to-date and MdM property is returned at the end of staff contracts

Working Relationships

  • Report directly to the Field Coordinator
  • Collaborate with the HR Coordinator and Finance Coordinator based in Maiduguri

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper application of HR policies and processes
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date staff records and database
  • Assist in payroll preparation and contract management
  • Collaborate with Logistics to manage staff contact details and property returns
  • Participate in interviews and provide HR support as needed
  • Organize information sessions to increase team members’ knowledge and understanding of HR

Finance

  • Support the Finance Coordinator in reviewing MRs (Material Requests) and evaluation grids, ensuring the donor and saga codes are completed.
  • Supervise all disbursements and payments at the base level, ensuring compliance with donor budgets and the security of funds and staff safety.
  • Work with the Admin Officer to ensure all entries in the Saga accounting system are adequately supported and accurately recorded.
  • Responsible for the bookkeeping (accounting) of the base, under the line management of the Finance Coordinator. Prepare and supervise the monthly closing, review, and integration of the accounting before sending it to the coordination.
  • Manage the base treasury and send cash forecasts to the country office on a bi-monthly basis, ensuring the smooth transfer and security of funds.
  • Prepare and finalize the base fund forecast in collaboration with the Field Coordinator and Program Managers.
  • Update the budget, follow up, and forecast on a monthly basis, and conduct meetings to share the results with the team.
  • Participate and assist the Finance Coordinator in providing data, preparing, and timely submitting financial reports to donors and headquarters.

Other Responsibilities

  • Develop a filing system for the administration department, in collaboration with the HR/Administrative Coordinator.
  • Comply with MdM’s policies and practices regarding the code of conduct, safety, security, and other relevant policies and procedures.

Required Profile for the HR/Admin Officer Position at Medecins du Monde (MdM) in Borno State

To be considered for the HR/Admin Officer position at MdM in Borno State, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources Management, or a related field

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in HR and/or Finance
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar position with an international non-governmental organization (experience with MdM is an asset)
  • Experience working in conflict or difficult contexts is a distinct advantage

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in Excel and database management
  • Strong understanding of HR policies, processes, and best practices
  • Proficiency in financial management and accounting
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to changing circumstances

Languages

  • English: Mandatory
  • Hausa and Kanuri: Recommended
  • French: An asset

Salary Range

N300,000 – N400,000 per month.

Job Summary

The Nurse will improve the health of the targeted population by providing quality curative and preventive health care. Responsibilities include triaging patients, ensuring smooth patient flow, providing clinical care, assisting with referrals, and offering health education and hygiene promotion. The role may require assisting Health staff in other capacities as needed. Essential functions must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Clinical Nursing Services: Deliver nursing care according to internationally accepted standards.
  • Assist Healthcare Team: Support clinicians, midwives, laboratory, vaccination, and pharmacy staff in their duties.
  • Patient Management: Handle triage, take vital signs, and organize patient consultations.
  • Vaccination: Conduct vaccinations for children and pregnant women.
  • Wound Care: Perform dressing and suturing of deep wounds.
  • Inpatient Care: Provide nursing care per physician’s guidelines in inpatient settings.
